Leopard Discus for Sale

Leopard discus are some of the most eye-catching fish in the hobby. Every fish is covered in dense red spots over a lighter base, a pattern that makes a group look like a living mosaic. Our leopards come from Tony Tan bloodlines and are chosen for clean patterning, round bodies and calm behavior.

What Leopard Discus Look Like

Leopard discus have a pale gold to light orange body covered head to tail in small, deep red spots. The spots should be crisp and even, without smudged patches. Panthera leopards carry a bolder, more broken pattern. Ring-gene leopards show spots that join into small rings for a lacy look. Colors deepen as the fish mature and settle into a stable tank.

Sizes We Offer

Our current stock includes young 3–3.5 inch leopards with the ring gene, Panthera leopards around 4.5 inches, and leopards at 5–5.5 inches. Young fish are a good fit if you want to grow out a group and watch the pattern develop. Larger fish give you full color right away and settle quickly into a show tank. Stock changes often, so check the shop for what's available today.

Care Basics

Keep leopard discus warm, around 82–86°F, in soft, clean water with steady parameters. Regular water changes do more for color and growth than anything else. Feed small meals several times a day: a quality high-protein mix, frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp all work well. Discus do best in groups of five or more in a tank sized for adult fish. Calm tankmates help them feel secure.

New arrivals should go through a short quarantine before joining your main tank. Our quarantine basics guide walks through setup, acclimation and the first few days.

Breeding Notes

Leopards are a popular pick for breeders because the spotted pattern passes along in many pairings. When a pair forms, they'll clean a vertical surface such as a cone or slate, lay eggs, and fan them together. Fry feed on the slime coat of both parents for the first days. Stable warm water, low nitrates and a quiet spot give a pair the best chance. Ring-gene fish are often used to add rings to the pattern in future spawns.
