Valentine Discus for Sale

Valentine discus are a warm, glowing strain known for rich red and orange color, often with a bright, clean face and fins edged in contrasting tones. They bring a soft, romantic color to a tank, which is how they got their name. Our Valentines come from Tony Tan bloodlines and are chosen for color, round body shape and good behavior.

What Valentine Discus Look Like

A good Valentine has an even red-orange body with little or no dark pattern, so the color reads as one solid glow. Many show a lighter or golden head and fins trimmed in red or white. Red Valentines push toward a deeper, saturated red. Color builds with age, diet and clean water, so a young Valentine keeps getting better as it grows.

Sizes We Offer

We currently carry young Red Valentine discus at 3.5–3.75 inches and adult Valentine discus at 6.5–7 inches. Young fish are a good fit for hobbyists who want to raise a group together. Adults deliver full color and presence on day one and suit a show tank or a breeding project. Stock changes often, so check the shop for what's available now.

Care Basics

Keep Valentines in warm water around 82–86°F with soft, clean, stable conditions. Frequent water changes are the key to color and growth. Feed several small meals a day: a high-protein discus mix, frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. Color-focused foods can help bring out the reds. Keep discus in groups of five or more with peaceful tankmates and a tank big enough for adults.

Breeding Notes

Solid red strains like the Valentine are popular with breeders aiming for clean, unpatterned color. Pairing Valentine to Valentine helps keep that solid look in the fry. Adults in the 6.5–7 inch range are mature, pairing-size fish. A pair will clean a cone or flat surface, spawn and guard the eggs together. Steady temperature, very clean water and a calm room improve results.
